This Mama Loves: Maybelline Baby Lips

My daughter is definitely a girly girl, so I was fully resigned to the fact that it would only be a matter of time before she raided my make-up stash, I just didn't expect it to happen at 29 months!!
She has a bit of a thing for tubes of Maybelline baby lips, thankfully her favourite is the blue tube which is colourless so I don't get in too much trouble with Mr Jones. We do sometimes get in a bit of a tussle though because I'm a little bit in love with this lip balm too.
My lips  have been constantly dry for well over a year thanks to dehydration from pregnancy and I now suspect that breastfeeding isn't helping matters much either. I popped the blue tube, called ' hydrate '  in my basket in Boots a few weeks back, without giving them much thought. When I finally got around to trying this out, I was so pleased with the results that I went back and bought myself Peach Kiss and  Pink Punch.

Peach Kiss: On my lips this comes out more like a shimmering nude than a peach, I often wear this under as a base for nude lipstick just for that extra bit of moisture. I find this shade equally as moisturising as the clear Hydrate lip balm (blue tube).  Smells yummy too.....

Pink Punch: This is my absolute favourite, it's a vibrant pink which reminds me of a diluted Mac Candy Yum Yum. I love neon lips and this would definitely be a good way to get used to the look of bright lipstick if it's something you're a little scared to try out. This shade is quite buildable too so can layer it up to a certain extent whilst getting all the benefits of a lip balm.

Now I love me a bargain almost as much as I love treating myself to a luxury product, these lip balms are just £2.99 in Boots and they often seem to be on offer. I'm a bit of a  lip balm junkie, what else should I try? Suggestions please!!

Wrappz Phone Case Review

I have a bit of a thing for anything customised, particularly with photos of my beautiful cherubs. Recently Wrappz contacted me to review their custom phone cases which of course were just my style. Their website is super easy to use, you just upload your favourite photo and select a case or a skin for the device of your choice. There's even a library full of images to chose from if you're just not that into personalising your gadgets with your photos.

We did a Christmas card photo shoot with the little ones back in December that I desperately wanted to post on the blog but didn't get around to doing because one by one we all suffered with hand, foot and mouth disease over Christmas (which was just so so horrible). Anyhow, I decided to use my favourite photo from this shoot, even if it's no longer Christmas, and uploaded it on to an iPhone 5 case which you can do HERE!

Since my case arrived, E is constantly admiring the photo of herself, baby brother and the tree, which she was very sad about throwing out. We had to tell her it had gone back to the forest and will come back later in the year for us to decorate again, I felt like such a mean mama.

Wrappz are very kindly offering a free phone skin to all my readers when you visit their site. Simply use the voucher code freeskin,  all you need to do is pay for the postage.

Personally I think these phone cases make fantastic gifts for family members, especially if you are all out of ideas post festive season. They are also a must for all you instagram addicts out there looking for innovative ways to display your photos. For more information, ideas and inspiration, simply visit  www.wrappz.com

This Mama Loves:Benefit They're Real Mascara

For the past 10 years or so I have been totally loyal to YSL Faux Cils Mascara in orderer to make my stubbly little lashes vaguely visible.  I have had a few brief flings here and there such as Diorshow Mascara and even individual false lashes ( which I developed an allergy to!) but I have always come back to my faithful YSL…… until now!!

In the summer I received a sample of benefit's 'They're Real' mascara in an issue of Elle magazine. I find that mascara samples usually don't do the full size products justice, usually due to the miniature brushes, this one however was surprisingly good. So, once I had used up my stash of YSL Faux Cils ( I used to buy it in bulk at Duty Free) I invested in this Benefit beauty.

It has a rubberised brush with spiky bits at the end which are perfect for covering those hard to reach lashes in the corner.  Best of all it seems to lengthen lashes and give volume at the same time, when most mascara's seem to do either/ or. My main reason for swaying from my faithful YSL mascara in the past was because I found it dried out really really quickly, we're talking about 3-4 weeks here!! So far this one is going strong after about 2 months.

I love the art deco themed packaging, although I'm not a fan of the huge logo. I appreciate that this is benefit's signature style but I think it makes the product look a bit cheap ,which at £19.50 it most definitely is not!

That said if my only complaint is the font then I'd say I'm on to a winner…… this one's a keeper!!
